Eckhart Tolle AudioBooks Collection
An historic meeting with this leading new voice in contemporary spirituality
When Eckhart Tolle agreed to be interviewed on September 11, 2001, he could not foresee the historic nature of this date or the suffering that would follow. As the day’s events unfolded, in real time, he responded with a calm and clear voice, helping to make sense out of the fear and chaos that will forever define this date. "Even the Sun Will Die" documents this historic meeting with Eckhart Tolle and the comforting wisdom he revealed that day.
We live in a time, he says, when we define ourselves through our enemies; and science and technology are in the service of human madness. Yet even in the face of disaster, a miracle happens when we say "yes" to living in this moment and no other. This "great opening," he teaches, can serve as nothing less than the beginning of a revolution in human consciousness with the potential to transform our world and everyone in it. Also for the first time on audio, Eckhart Tolle comments on his own awakening, and what he sees as the next step in human evolution. From insights into the way out of suffering, to evidence that a new consciousness is already rising, "Even the Sun Will Die" confirms Eckhart Tolle’s place among the most important and accessible spiritual teachers of our time.In the collection.

RépondreSupprimerIm mostly reading buddhist teachings and now and then books from other spiritual traditions. But i have to say that i think Tolle is a very good teacher really. Yes i know, i know He was on the Oprah show and all that, but his teaching are very clear and not burdened with any unnecessary abracadabra or mythological over-weight. I have not been digging deep into his work but monks i have talked with from both the Buddhist and Christian tradition has told me they respect his famous book "The Power of Now". Mystical teachings cant be much clearer and practical than this. A good book i still think. I listened to the audiobook 5 years ago and it gave my sitting practice new life for some unknown reason.
RépondreSupprimerTotally agree Björn . Being popular or part of the marketing machine does not diminish the message of his books.
RépondreSupprimerwhy not to ask a qualified Budhist Master about Tolle?, and not being guided by ourn own incomplete ideas about such things....
RépondreSupprimerSome people become identified and attached to different sects and religions and they become blind to the truth if it appears somewhere else.
RépondreSupprimerTolle is a relatively new teacher, but his teachings are basically those of some very old traditions, but primarily Buddhism.
I have enjoyed his books and found them a help in understanding some of the more convoluted Zen teachings. He puts his own slant on numerous things and adds some significantly different concepts, such as pain bodies, when he could simply call it the ego, but that's ok. I take from him what I feel is of value and I let the rest go.
I'd recommend his work to anyone. As Bjorn said, he is free from the cultural baggage that many established teachings carry and his teachings are accessible and his manner is fresh.
I dont think you actually have read his books Shan. As for a qualified Buddhist Master? WTF??
RépondreSupprimerQualified Buddhist teacher??? seriously!! u had to use the word "Qualified"!!!!!! i suppose u were referring to your self... LOL
RépondreSupprimerwhat is the matter with you Shan!!!! when u say shit like that i am not even sure if u even know what you are talking about???!!!
I am not a big Tolle Zealot but i think his teachings are true, and helps anyone of any faith better understand reality.
I Agree that, may be Tolle's company is doing the marketing thing a bit too much , but i feel that might actually be required to the western people, because soo many are ignorant of many teachings. of course every visitor of "Buddha Torrents" will familiar with non-duality etc, But what about ordinary people in the west i think mass publicity might actually be required to crack the tough shell of ignorance mankind has created around themselves.
Is Tolle the first one in the west to come out with such teachings in the recent past?.. actually No! but look what happened to the others, their teachings have all been forgotten, so i think the way Tolle is doing it is okay... cause we really don't want his simple and clear teachings to vanish with time.
Tolle is as far as i think very much required for an ordinary person to understand and realize spirituality.
im sorry to not being elocuent in fluent english...let it as it is...you are right
RépondreSupprimerI think Shan may have simply miss quoted himself, or choose the wrong interpretation of words for explaining his point. Spanish is his first language.
RépondreSupprimerCompassion & Wisdom All.
Please....Tolle should not be on a torrent called Buddha torrent!
RépondreSupprimerHe is typical New Age - watering down all advanced stuff, nicely package, avoiding everything called diligence, looking for a broad audience = making a ton of money for him self. To even compare him with buddhism and its deep and profound training/method is i joke!
Next up "The Secret".....
Hahaha, so much EMOTIONS here because of Tolle :) Like i said i am not a Tolle-fan or anything but as i said before i have met very qualified teachers who refers to his first book "The Power of Now" as being substantial. One was a very skilled meditator and Buddhist Monk in the Gelug tradition, the other was actually a Catholic Dominican Monk that was intensly/extensively trained in a Zen monastery in Japan and that today is a zazen teacher as well.
RépondreSupprimerHahaha, next time the emotions of the poor sentient being Tolle arise in the mind focus on the outbreath, try a few mantras.. :) Just kidding i enjoy reading people expressing their opinions. I guess no one here is wrong or right, maybe it is like asking if tomates taste good or terrible... Anyone who knows? What would Nagarjuna say without refering to the aggregates or the sense gates? Hahah, Lots of Love to All of You :)
